About me
Hi! I'm Pablo. Welcome to my personal site.
Currently I'm finishing a PhD in the field of quantum thermodynamics at the beautiful University of San Martín. You can take a look at my published work here. I'll be uploading my thesis soon (hopefully before July, 2022!). Before this PhD I obtained a MSc in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires. I got to work in some interesting places in those years. I did some development making an analogue control system in the context of laser tuning, and learned a bunch of optics, digital cameras, and image processing techniques while working in an fluid dynamics experiment... which in fact, was part of my master's thesis (only in Spanish, sorry!). I love to talk about these great subjects!
Besides academia, I have a second -Mr. Hyde- professional side. And of course, it's all about computers. I learned how to code at a very young age, so I've been working as a freelance programmer long before any formal study. I worked with a fair amount of technologies... some of them well known, and some others very random. Although my experience cannot be described as profound, it is certainly wide (e.g. from implementing a tweet recollecting system, to the development of now-casting hail alerts, hacking the national communications agency webpage to get some data, or implementing audio fingerprinting for copyright applications). I'm surely not scared by any technology, system or particular language. Much later in life I had some (quite strong) formal education in Computer Science as well, where I learned about data structures, OOP, software design patterns and that kind of blow-minding stuff.
If you are working on an interesting project don't hesitate to contact me. I enjoy a good new challenge and I'm sure I can add value to it!
